In the 1960's, as part of an effort to make log dumps safer, Canadian Forest Products (CANFOR) began modifying their log cars bunks to fixed stakes for use with "big mouth" log unloaders and full car A-Frame log loaders. PC&F "Seattle" pattern bunks were the standard for this conversion, with many being purchased as other logging railways shut down in the 1950's and 1960's as spares.
