In the mythology of the indigenous Algonquin peoples—specifically the Wabanaki Confederacy, which comprises the Micmac, Maliseet, and Passamaquoddy tribes—the Chenoo (also known as Chenu, Jinu, or Kiwakwa) is a terrifying, man-eating ice giant that inhabits the frozen forests of the north. It serves as a dark warning against humanity's worst instincts.
