A straight length of classical moulding: a row of smooth half-egg domes alternating with pointed, cone-shaped darts, set in a channel on a rectangular base strip with a plain fillet along the front edge. The piece measures about 102 x 34 mm. Egg-and-dart is a classic ovolo enrichment, found on Greek Ionic capitals and cornices and widely reused in Roman, Renaissance and Neoclassical buildings.
