The Finsteraarhorn, 4,274 m, is the highest mountain of the Bernese Alps and the most prominent peak in Switzerland. It stands on the border of the cantons of Bern and Valais, and it is the ninth-highest mountain in the Alps. In 2001 the massif and its glaciers became part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch World Heritage Site. The model is built from satellite elevation data.
