Garbharakshambigai Amman: Protector of the Womb

"This shrine-style image depicts Garbharakshambigai Amman, the maternal form of Parvati revered as the Protector of the Womb. The goddess stands frontally on a lotus within an ornate arch crowned by a kirtimukha; her two hands offer abhaya and varada, signaling refuge and blessing. In living tradition at Thirukkarukavur (Tamil Nadu) she safeguards conception and safe delivery; devotees receive consecrated ghee for fertility and oil for childbirth as prasadam."
