Forelegs tucked and mane streaming back in the wind, a horse gallops to the left through a shallow stream. Rippled lines beneath the hooves show the water being splashed through. Tall pines and leafy trees frame the plaque at either edge, and a small bird flits across the sky at top right. Good depth between the horse and the trees gives rich shadow on a carved panel.
