The Karadakh Gorge — known in Dagestan as the 'Gate of Wonders' — is a narrow limestone slot hidden in the Gunib district of the Russian republic of Dagestan. Its walls rise up to 50 metres, while in the tightest places the passage narrows to just a couple of metres wide.
