Hold the middle, spin the outer snowflake — and the little star in the centre spins backwards, more than twice as fast. It prints in one piece, fully assembled, no supports, nothing to glue. Inside the snowflake is a real planetary gear set: a 42-tooth internal ring gear cut into the snowflake body, six 12-tooth planet gears on fixed pins, and an 18-tooth sun gear in the middle. The planet carrier is the part your fingers hold, so the ring and the sun are forced to turn in **opposite directions…
