Lake Tahoe Bathymetry Wall Relief — Layered Depth Map

Design Lake Tahoe sits in a deep basin in the Sierra Nevada. This design follows its floor as measured by a USGS multibeam sonar survey: the steep walls near the shore become tight terraces, the flat deep centre becomes one calm plain against the wall. Four colours by height — Dark Blue, Marine Blue, Ice Blue and Bone White — make the depth readable from across the room.
