Murugan with Peacock and Vel:Wood Painted Style

This painted-wood style model depicts Murugan (Skanda, Kartikeya) standing in calm samabhanga on a temple plinth. The god wears a tall kirita and jeweled girdle; the central vel spear rests upright before him while the right hand offers abhaya and the left varada. Flanking arms lift emblems—including a small trident—framing the figure. His vivid peacock (mayil) vahana stands at his side with layered, rainbow plumage, echoing the saturated folk palette of South Indian shrine carvings.
