A compassionate sculpted group showing a seated robed figure with long wavy hair and a beard, resting his hands on the shoulders of weary, kneeling and leaning people gathered around him. The group includes women, a child and an emaciated man, all taking shelter against his lap. Folded drapery, bare feet and expressive faces give it a devotional, serene mood suited to religious displays, altars and collectors of sacred art.
