Two tall pines bend inward from either side to form a near-circular frame around a standing stag. The deer faces the viewer with its head slightly turned, a full mane of fur on its chest, and antlers that rise high above the frame. Trees and ground join into one continuous outline, and the open sky inside the circle is cut away.
