Long, pointed petals in two staggered rows radiate from a broad domed seed disc, which is ringed by a band of small notches that look a little like gear teeth. The flower fills most of the round plaque, leaving a slim border and rim around the tips. Farmhouse kitchens, sunrooms, porch walls and kids' rooms all suit a sunflower.
