It featured the standard 76.2 mm F-34 gun, sloped hull armor, and a V-2 diesel engine, with a distinctive hexagonal turret manufactured using a heavy stamping press. This pressed-steel turret was developed to simplify production and overcome difficulties manufacturing cast turrets, helping the Soviet Union maintain tank output during wartime shortages.
