T-34-85(ZIS-S-53) Soviet Medium Tank

The T-34-85 (ZiS-S-53) designation is not a commonly documented standard Soviet production variant. It may be a mistaken reference to the T-34-85 Model 1944, which was armed with the 85 mm ZiS-S-53 gun. This version featured a larger three-man turret, sloped hull armor, and the V-2 diesel engine, improving firepower and crew coordination over earlier 76.2 mm-armed T-34 tanks. The ZiS-S-53 gun gradually replaced the earlier D-5T armament during 1944.
