As much I love the iconic gearcases used on the Tamiya DF01 Manta Ray buggy and the TA01 and TA02 touring cars, the clamping force on the gearcase cover is a weak point. There are too few screws, the cover cracks and so do the bosses in the main part. You probably have seen the big braces, either 3D printed or machined aluminium, they seem to do the trick, but they are bulky or expensive.
