Yule Cat and Witch

The Christmas Cat is a large and vicious cat that roams the snowy countryside at Christmastime, eating people who have not received new clothes before Christmas Eve. It is especially feared by children, who are expected to be good until the winter solstice. Her mistress, Grýla, a monster or witch, loves the flesh of bad children and comes down from her mountain at Christmas time in search of them.
