Rod storage on the outside of my fishing crate without drilling it: one PETG print and four zip ties. The tube swallows a 40 mm rod butt, the side notch clears the reel, and the bottom is left open so water drains out instead of sitting in there. I made it for an Ascend crate and it ties to the ribs rather than hooking over the rim, so check yours has something solid at both mounting heights before you print.
